Just stayed the 1 night, room clean, staff friendly, breakfast nice .
As always the reception staff exemplary friendly informative efficient. The rooms clean and quiet. The price point is just right. That’s why we keep going back.
Quick & friendly check-in. Clean, quiet and newly decorated room. Recommended
Clean and adequate accommodation..very central location. Helpful pleasant staff..no draught beers in bar tho?
Everything was perfect
An excellent hotel in a central location for a great price. Will stay in.a Motel One hotel again.
Nice comfortable rooms in a prime location for everything.
Reception staff very welcoming and helpful with storage of luggage..Room light and airy and spotlessly clean..A lovely stay.
Stayed 2 nights this time, as always rooms spotless, staff very friendly. Breakfast yummy!! Back again in 4 days to stay for another night.
Enjoyed my stay in this city centre hotel. Room was compact and had everything I needed. It was however very warm even with the air cooler (so had to open the windows).
Love Motel One, stayed here many times. The staff are always lovely. The beds and pillows are comfy. The location is excellent. Only reason for not giving score of 10 is the plastic cups for tea and coffee in the room, they make the drink taste horrible, so much so I can't drink from them.
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, it was modern, clean and functional and being in a central location had easy pedestrian access to all areas of the city centre. I chose the hotel in part because it was located on a side street and would be quieter than hotels on thoroughfares. My room was on the fifth floor on the north elevation. However, I was woken on both nights on a number of occasions by the clattering sound of a vehicle (lorry?) driving over a large manhole cover in the service road below. It appears there are 4 square metal sheets making up a large manhole cover. The proximity of tall buildings means the sound is transferred upwards and due to needing to have the window open for fresh air, the noise was inescapable. For future guests, it may be worth investigating whether the metal sheets can replaced with something more suitable, or alternatively be better secured and fitted with some sort of noise dampening.
All service levels were at the high level we have come to expect of Motel One. There are two reasons why we have only attributed good to our stay rather than excellent. The first is the fact that the ironing board we borrowed may be suitable for ironing for someone who is 5 feet tall but not anyone much taller than that. The second is the absence of a socket anywhere close enough to a mirror to allow hair dryers or similar devices to be used effectively by female guests.
My room was very clean. It was small and bathroom was very small. The air conditioner was barely adequate. The mattress probably needs replacing. So the room got the 8 but the service and people get a 10++.
The staff were very friendly. Perfect for cyclists: We booked an 'accessible room', which was so spacious that we could take our bicycles into the room.
A faulty lock was quickly sorted, a noisy room quickly moved. Friendly great staff, beds very comfy
The motel is in a prime location and is well presented and staff are warm and friendly
Excellent stay, team friendly. Hotel is in a great location. WiFi great, no drop in service. Good shower
I stay at your hotel every year and it gets my return custom because it offers excellent value for money, it's perfectly placed, staff are wonderful and it is spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Great location, great staff , 4th time staying .....says it all
Comfortable, friendly modern hotel in the heart of Newcastle. Good value for money.
Good hotel in a very central place. Quite easy to find with easy check in and near restaurants for an evening meal. Because you don't have a section for anything I'd improve, I'd say the breakfast needs a simple tweak. Your other hotels label the eggs 'soft boiled' and hard boiled. there was no signage here and it mattered. A pot of oats and 2 hard boiled eggs wasn't that thrilling for £14.50!
Very pleasant and friendly staff Everywhere spotlessly clean Breakfast lovely.
good location, nice hotel, clean room
Lovely staff make you feel welcome . Room are very clean
Lovely hotel, great staff, great rooms and very clean. Would definitely recommend to friends and family
Comfortable bed, very clean room
Great hotel
i had truble turnin on the heating - it was quite cool in the room
Beautiful hotel and great staff
Perfect location, waking distance to shopping and quayside and lots of bars and restaurants only minutes away. Huge reception area lots of seating areas
For the price, the room was a nice place to stay. Tidy, comfortable and good location. Just the air conditioning was quite noisy. I would have stayed longer but the price doubled for Saturday night. The receptionist was cordial, but just ticked the boxes at checkin, not overly friendly.
Excellent location. Great value for money
overall very good; the provided toiletries could be better
Small room. Not enough sachets of milk for tea, coffee. Not got a free bottle of water as promised on website.Cost of stay reasonable, shower is good and doesn’t take a few mins to warm up unlike other places. Check out at 12 o’clock is good instead of the standard 11 o’clock time that other hotels do so this is a bonus. Room was clean enough on arrival.
great location and great service team!
Excellent hotel couldn't fault it .. slept like a baby pillows and bed proper comfy.... Would definitely stay again...👍
Very good in all respects. Perfect for my on night stay.
Good hotel. Stayed a few times before. Room allocated at rear of property 651 wasA a bit noisy due to lorry’s coming at 5:00am. Don’t like plastic beakers for tea/coffee. Prefer proper ceramic mugs
Been to this hotel twice now and can’t fault it. Great location, rooms have all you need and the bar is great! Breakfast is not cooked but the variety is great and there’s loads to eat. I will definitely stay again!
Great location. Nice bar and reception area. Rooms okay…… pillows terrible
First time here. Handy for central Newcastle. Would happily stay again.
I've stayed at motel one Newcastle on numerous occasions &would recommend it to anyone looking for 1st class accommodation, great location in the city centre &the housekeeping is immaculate, the reception staff&barstaff are brilliant ¬hing is to much trouble for any of them.
We had another great stay at the hotel. The bed is super comfy and the bathroom is spotless. If I had 1 gripe it would be that there is no mirror at the small desk, so being female if youre trying to do your hair its not great. Yes there is a mirror on the wall further along but there are no plug points so would I stay here again to go to the football etc yes! But would I book here for a weekend with the girls, sadly not.....
Stay here whenever we can. The reception staff are excellent friendly and informative, the rooms are well laid out very clean and quiet. I’m back next week for 2 days.
The lady at reception was very helpful we were given a room on the 6 floor and because I don,t like lifts she managed to find one on the second floor, the gentlemen behind the bar were very polite and friendly
Very friendly and placed nice and clean. Would stay again. Great value
Friendly staff and a very clean modern hotel to stay in the centre of Newcastle at very competitive rates
The location of the hotel is brilliant, so central and we didn’t need any taxis apart from to the airport. (I believe we could have travelled by metro but we were tight for time ) The hotel is lovely, really nice lobby and bar area. The rooms are clean and modern but small and a bit clinical. The bed was very comfortable and despite being so central we didn’t hear anything that would disturb sleep. Will definitely stay again if returning to Newcastle
Switch on. beOne.

Newcastle
The gateway to Scotland
Newcastle upon Tyne, the northernmost UK city south of the border, is frequently referred to as the gateway to Scotland, but in fact has much more to offer. Our centrally-located Design Hotel makes a perfect base from which to explore the city’s fascinating history and the multifaceted contrasts between “coal and culture” that it represents. Sleep in cosy box-spring beds, start your day with a healthy, organic breakfast, and relax amongst designer furniture in our One Lounge.
Newcastle has a rich history, represented by its city walls dating back to the 13th century, the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas, and the seven different bridges spanning the Tyne. Imposing buildings recall the former wealth of the coal industry, and the consequences of industrialisation. Today’s Newcastle is a lively city for art, architecture and night-life, and has impressively bridged the gap from the industrial to the post-industrial age. Welcome to “The Toon”!

“Sometimes I miss my River Tyne”
The Tyne river, frequently memorialised in song, is spanned by no fewer than seven bridges. Most interesting to tourists are perhaps the Tyne Bridge completed in the first half of the 20th century, the High Level Bridge and the comparatively recent Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
Art and culture aficionados are sure to enjoy a visit to the Laing Art Gallery, whose collection includes works by Gauguin, Turner and Holman Hunt. It is only a few minutes walk away from the hotel.
In the evenings, Newcastle turns into a major party destination, with a night-life ranked alongside that of London, Las Vegas and Rio de Janeiro. Trendy bars, music venues and clubs are filled with locals and attract thousands of tourists to the city.
