I would have scored 10 but the breakfast buffet has changed with no prepared fresh fruit salad. I was shown plums, apples, kiwis etc all of which I would have had to prepare myself and I don’t have time when I’m working and I would have needed a better knife and facilities to wash the fruit
The room was too hot, AC does not work. The bed was hard. And the front desk was all over the place. You charged us for breakfast that was not vegetarian friendly so we requested a refund and still waiting now.
Fantastic hotel, very posh, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast delightful and rooms are very clean and just exactly what one requires for a one night stay.
Breakfast something worm. Butty. Bacon. Egg. Etc.
The room was not great at all, no wardrobe to keep my clothing, just an open rack with hangers just by the door, not even inside the room. The bed was positioned in such an awkward way, I barely had space to relax around the room. The bathroom was okay but no exhaust fan so after a shower it would get humid and not dry quickly. The room was EXTREMELY dusty, just sitting on the bed and using the blankets had dust suspended in the air. There were paper cups instead of glass cups and the lighting also wasn't good enough. The room was honestly bad for what I expected, what I paid for and what was in the description when I booked the hotel. Aircon was not working at all, thankfully the weather was okay so I managed but one night it got too hot and I had to open the windows for temperature management. The hotel was located around a lot of pubs and clubs because I heard noise every night I stayed it, even the walls in general were so thin, I could hear people outside my room within the hotel and outside the hotel. If I wasn't tired, I don't know how I could have gotten a good night's sleep with all the noise. Horrible experience, would not book again.
Outstanding as always great location great staff and decent pricing and the blue sweets are gorgeous
Loved staying here. Perfect location for bars and food. Room was clean and ideal size for what was needed. Only thing was the room was far too warm we did request an air con unit but it didn’t help that much. Obviously not the hotels fault they can’t control outside temps. But apart from that overall was fantastic we have already booked our next weekend back to Newcastle
Overall a very good experience, Very clean, friendly very helpfull staff. Situated in the middle of town was perfect but the only thing was we had to close window at night as was loud from the pubs and Restaurants. Saying that as long as we can close the window we would definatly go back.
Motel One is excellent for really comfy bed, great continental breakfast. Love it
Lovely bar and seating area, room was fairly clean with a few stains here and there. Main issue I had was the AC wouldn't do cooling (heating only) so the room was unbearably hot even with the window open!
The reception area and lobby is beautiful, very well laid out, decorated and is nicely cooled with air con. The rooms weren’t afforded the same decor or air con. It was disappointing that our bed was not actually a double, but two singles pushed together. The pillows were awful, two different shaped pillows, one solid and the other far too soft, leaving me with neck ache. The WiFi was advertised as ‘super fast’ it was not, most messages wouldn’t send between us staying within the same hotel.
Overall great stay and lovely clean hotel, my only complaint was the room was rather hot even with the air con on. Loved the extra little touches after letting them know we were celebrating an anniversary
Excellant facilitys and the bed was fantastic And the staff were very nice as well
We normally have a quiet room everytime we stay but had a very noisy one on front of hotel and through night we could swear w3 heard a yapping dog are dogs allowed. Young reception people were oblivious to my question
The hotel was modern, clean and had all we needed. The location was good and we found the breakfast was a good selection.
Check in gent was lovely because I made a mistake with my booking. He amended it which was a relief. The room was lovely and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was perfect. Good choice. Check out for 12 was great because we were off on a cruise later that day. We have stayed here before as have family members. The location was perfect because we were booked into Miller and carter for a meal. This is my 1st choice stay when visiting Newcastle. Thanks to all.
Liz and the Hotel Manager Erwin were simple great. They made our stay comfortable and understood our needs. Thumbs up for Liz for having an Own it Solve it Attitude.
Lovely 2 night stay visiting family. Perfect location close to center and excellent pubs and restaurants. Very comfortable room with adequate space, good facilities and good view. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent continental breakfast with wide choice of foods. Lobby area very welcoming and a good place to meet others.
Hotel amazing staff very helpful, room spotless only problem is air conditioning when turn fan to full it is very noisy keeps you awake on a night
great location, clean and warm room, friendly staff
times, there is always quick check in and friendly staff in the bar and reception.
Pleasant stay as usual. All staff friendly and helpful. I don’t think the air con worked in our room it was very hot.
Great location. Clean, tidy, comfortable room s. Friendly staff.
Good but TV wasn't working during our stay, also air con was on and off, the heat woke me up in night
Great location and nice clean hotel with helpful staff. Stayed many times it has always been good.
Room is smaller than expected! Instant coffee was provided but maybe choose a little better quality/taste? Booked as a beOne member but received no water, when asked at front desk after check in (check in was great with Minh) and even showed the female staff our booking, she was reluctant to give it! Carpet had not been vacuumed, traces of nail clippings by bed and a plastic clothes tag!
This was our second stay. This time we were in room 310. No curtains at the bedroom window, so we were pretty much awake from 6am. Everything else was great, but you expect a good night sleep. The lack of sleep impacted our day, and as such we will not return.
Everything was spot-on. The few niggles I had were minor.
Perfectly happy with what we got, lovely staff, perfect location close to many attractions and city centre. Breakfast was lovely and ample so all good
Lovely hotel and nicely decorated with friendly helpful staff. For that it rates a 10. The rooms are too small & tight to get around as there is little room for luggage.
Clean comfy room ,Friendly helpful staff , good location for town centre ,
Super location and very clean room on 4th floor. Quiet at night comfy bed. The only negative? No aircon....needs it really as window only opens partially.
No wifi in the morning, Little vegetarian options on breakfast and the AC in bathroom wasnt working
Absolutely loved everything about our stay. Location amazing, decor fabulous, staff friendly and well informed. Value for money outstanding. Will definitely be back and have already recommended to family and friends.
Very good hotel with great facilities and perfect location
I found the room I was given was small & not very private due to the close proximity of the rooms opposite. The view was awful. Worst motel 1 I’ve stayed in.
Great location 👌. Staff friendly and very helpful. Hotel is stylish and clean. Only one thing i would change is the seating in the lounge as they are all low seats and as i use a crutch i look for more normal height seats but i still recommend the hotel
Loved the big smile and welcome on arrival. Not someone hidden behind a screen.
I have stayed here a few times and have always had a good experience. My 9 rating would move to a 10 if there could be a bottle of water in the room please 🙏🏼
The customer service was friendly and very good and the hotel was really nice and very quiet (apart from hum of fans in courtyard at night but that was silent when I closed window) my only real niggle was the coffee cups in the rooms. They served their purpose but were not that easy to drink from and were very hot to hold as they has no handles. Breakfast was very nice and presented well. We could certainly go back
We had a great stay at Motel One Newcastle. Excellent value for money, central location, clean, friendly and helpful staff. would not hesitate to recommend.
Great stay comfy beds nice decor in common areas. Bedroom could have been cooler but in a heatwave so fans struggled
We always enjoy our stay at motel & sane this time. Only thing that we were dissapointed with this time was that we had breakfast sunday & there wasn't any bananas, pastries available when we went for breakfast so for the price we paid didn't think it was value this time .Also pillows were too soft in room.Apart from them couple issues we loved our time in hotel AGAIN .
The hotel was very impressive however the rooms were small and extremely hot even with the air cooling system on full and with an additional fan. I sweated all night.! Admittedly it was one of the hottest days of the year, but surely any hotel should be able to call the Room sufficiently to sleep comfortably It wasn’t a great experience and I won’t be going back.
Lovely staff, room was fine, if not a bit warm, even with the air con on. Shower was nice and hot. Overall good hotel.
Several times I've stopped at the hotel. Staff are always polite and friendly, rooms are clean and breakfast is always stocked up .
10th stay at the hotel back again in 6 days for another stay. Staff are friendly location is perfect and the rooms are great price.
Very rude staff and the receptionist was horrible never experienced something like that wouldn’t recommend to anyone going up north to Newcastle
Great location, ideal for someone coming from the train station, very easy to find. Beautiful location/building well designed and has all the necessary amenities you will need. The welcome at the reception was 10/10, I arrived at 11:00 and was checked in immediately, perfect thank you so much. The room was so peaceful 431, I highly recommend this. Hot drink facilities in the room and the walk in shadower were amazing for the price I paid. I didn’t have breakfast however when I was leaving the next day, I walked through and it was extremely generous. There are bars and restaurants in the becoming and everything is in walking distance. This hotel is a must.
I feel the reception area ,bar reception staff are all excellent however I feel the rooms feel a little tired and do not reflect the downstairs.
Switch on. beOne.

Newcastle
The gateway to Scotland
Newcastle upon Tyne, the northernmost UK city south of the border, is frequently referred to as the gateway to Scotland, but in fact has much more to offer. Our centrally-located Design Hotel makes a perfect base from which to explore the city’s fascinating history and the multifaceted contrasts between “coal and culture” that it represents. Sleep in cosy box-spring beds, start your day with a healthy, organic breakfast, and relax amongst designer furniture in our One Lounge.
Newcastle has a rich history, represented by its city walls dating back to the 13th century, the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas, and the seven different bridges spanning the Tyne. Imposing buildings recall the former wealth of the coal industry, and the consequences of industrialisation. Today’s Newcastle is a lively city for art, architecture and night-life, and has impressively bridged the gap from the industrial to the post-industrial age. Welcome to “The Toon”!

“Sometimes I miss my River Tyne”
The Tyne river, frequently memorialised in song, is spanned by no fewer than seven bridges. Most interesting to tourists are perhaps the Tyne Bridge completed in the first half of the 20th century, the High Level Bridge and the comparatively recent Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
Art and culture aficionados are sure to enjoy a visit to the Laing Art Gallery, whose collection includes works by Gauguin, Turner and Holman Hunt. It is only a few minutes walk away from the hotel.
In the evenings, Newcastle turns into a major party destination, with a night-life ranked alongside that of London, Las Vegas and Rio de Janeiro. Trendy bars, music venues and clubs are filled with locals and attract thousands of tourists to the city. So round off your visit to Newcastle with a fun-filled night on the tiles, then relax in the comfort of our affordable Design Hotel. Welcome to Newcastle!
